Easy Two-Wheeler Maintenance Tips and Tricks You Should be Aware of

Your bicycle does not run solely on leg strength. A little lube, a lot of love, and a good listen are also required. You do not know which remedy your bike requires to survive a long life, but with good bike maintenance, you can keep it in perfect condition and out of the store. With that in mind, here are the top five maintenance tips that will keep you worry-free when it comes to two-wheeler maintenance. Let’s take a look.

Basic Tips and Tricks to Maintain Two-Wheeler

Many of the basic two-wheeler maintenance tasks are simple enough that we can complete them without assistance at home.

1. Check Engine Oil

This is the most critical and foundational tip for keeping your bike in good working order. Despite the fact that this is a no-brainer, its significance cannot be overstated. You must regularly,

  • Check the oil level in the engine to ensure it is all at the right level.

  • Look for any possible oil leakage in the field.

  • Remove both the drain and the oil filler plugs.

  • To prevent drippage, cover the engine and/or exhaust area with aluminum foil.

  • Attach a new oil filter, replace any pieces you missed, and refill using a funnel and the correct volume and form of motorcycle oil until the oil has been drained. If you can't do it on your own, you can quickly enlist the assistance of the Maintenance center.

  • Replace the oil fill cap if required

This is all because the oil can thicken due to the inclusion of carbon deposits, causing a drag in the flow of the engine internals. So, you must regularly change the oil.

2. Check the Brakes

Before any flight, double-check the brakes and make sure they're in good condition. Checking the brake fluid level is also a good thing. Change the brake fluid after one to two years, as directed in your owner's manual, to keep your brakes performing at their best. You should also often check the thickness of your brake pads. It is advised that they be replaced until they are fully worn out. However, the ideal time to replace will only be advised by Vehicle repair centers. So, approach them and get thorough advice.

3. Maintain Tyre Pressure

Make sure the tires on your two-wheelers are properly inflated at all times. At least once or twice a month, we suggest testing the tire pressure. A tire with insufficient air pressure is more likely to wear and tear quicker than one with enough air pressure. The tire will need to be patched sooner due to the high wear and tear, resulting in a higher maintenance cost.

4. Clean Air filter

Cleaning the air filters on your bike is an important new bike maintenance tip. It is impossible to deny that pollution is a major problem in India. Polluted air and dusty driving conditions will easily clog the bike's filter. As a result, you must keep the air filters sterile. Air filters can be changed on a daily basis.

5. Adjust Clutch

A clutch is a system that is often used to shift gears at regular intervals during a journey. The clutch should be well adjusted and have the appropriate amount of free play. Don't overtighten your clutch – an overtightened clutch will allow it to slip without your knowledge, resulting in increased fuel consumption.

6. Maintain Battery

Periodic maintenance is needed for your bike's battery to maintain a long and trouble-free existence. So here’s what you can do:

  • Fill the battery with distilled water if required.

  • Look for any evidence of leakage on the battery.

  • The bike should be squeaky clean and free of any possible battery leakage.

  • Be sure the battery is properly charged if the motorcycle is not used for an extended period of time.

In addition to the tips mentioned above for keeping our two-wheelers in good condition, it is also a good idea to have them covered with a bike insurance policy.  If you have a new bike insurance policy, you will be able to make a claim for the repair of any components if they are damaged.
